Summary of Job
The Adventures Nicaragua Farm Manager oversees the agricultural development of the property in Pantanal in order to provide the Nicaragua Base and community with fresh food, employment and personal development opportunities, and opportunities for integration with short-term teams. The Farm Manager is responsible for managing the logistics of the farm and farm workers and maintaining the long-term sustainability of the farm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Adventures Nicaragua Farm Manager is responsible for the following ministerial duties:
- Hire and manage security on the farm.

Integrate short term teams in any farm projects and disciple them through servant leadership.

Disciple and minister to the farm workers and locals.

Interact with wholesale buyers to sell crops and model lessons in biblical stewardship.

Develop a model to enable impoverished locals to start businesses selling produce.
- Develop a team of ministry partners to complete the fundraising goal. (Amount to be determined). Through this process ministering to partners through prayer and teaching biblical truths is essential. (I Corinthians 9:14, Philippians 4:17) Training for this located at: www.support.adventures.org
​​​​​​​The Adventures Nicaragua Farm Manager accomplishes these ministerial duties through administrative tasks:

Responsible for irrigation planning and maintenance.

Research and select profitable crops..

Research and document environmental factors: wind patterns, soil type, planting seasons.

Oversee mulching and effective reuse of farm materials, including secondary uses for crops. .

Research best practices for crop maintenance.

Develop planting and maintenance manual for locals.

Regular communication with the Base Leader and Base Team
Competencies Required

Professing Christian with established record of high Christian character, integrity, servant leadership, maturity, and a positive attitude
