Summary of Job

The Adventures Base Intern will use their uniquely applicable skills to help build capacity for the long term vision of the Adventures Base, receive feedback from base leaders,  and experience what a life of full time international service consists of.  The goals of this internship are to determine the feasibility of long term service in cross-cultural ministry, as well as to add value to the base and to help meet some of their needs. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Adventures Base Intern will be responsible for the following ministerial duties:

    • Helping Adventures Base Team steward and serve short term teams, if needed. This can include, but is not limited to: Going with teams to serve alongside local ministries, helping cook and serve meals, regular cleaning of Base, investing in the spiritual growth of visiting teams.

    • Serving at the Adventures Base to help progress towards Base Development Goals. This may mean that occasionally we are able to accommodate a more customized internship if an intern has a specific skill set that is needed, or if there is a specific project or task that a base needs an intern to fulfill on a short term basis.

    • Developing a team of ministry partners to complete the fundraising goal. (Amount to be determined). Through this process ministering to partners through prayer and teaching biblical truths is essential. (I Corinthians 9:14, Philippians 4:17)

    • Keeping track of expenses and receipts while on the field, and submit reports, if needed, in a timely manner. 

Competencies Required

  • Professing Christian with established record of high Christian character,  integrity, servant leadership, maturity, and a positive attitude.

  • Character and Integrity –must have strong Christian moral principles, be trustworthy, honest, fair, and display the Fruit of the Spirit in both word and action.

  • Servant leadership – must lead as Christ did with humility, considering their needs above your own and making it your priority to improve those you serve.

  • Maturity –must be strong spiritually, responding appropriately with respect to the time and place of every situation.

  • Positive attitude – must always be willing to do your best with what is asked of you.

  • Understand and embrace the core values, culture, and ministry of Adventures in Missions.

  • Competency and training to work cross culturally.
