Summary of Job

Sales representatives will be responsible for generating participant commits to World Race, Gap Year and Semesters programs. He/she will be responsible for committing applicants over the phone and maintaining good customer relationships.

An effective sales representative must be an excellent communicator, have superior people skills, and be driven by increasing the number of people that join is on the field in our mission. They must be comfortable speaking to the missional proposition of the ministry and its mission, confident in addressing objections and fears, passionate about Adventures’ ministry, and knowledgeable about competition.

The goal of a sales representative is to help Adventures’ expand our mission, while providing targeted, specialized service to potential participants, all while keeping the bottom line in mind: every success is a person who will experience Him in a new way and bring the Gospel to the nations (Matthew 28:19).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide potential participants through the sales process from initial inquiry through commitment, providing knowledge, helpfulness and professionalism while informing them who we are, the heart for our programs, and trip/program details

  • Serve as the face of the ministry, being the first point of contact for potential applicants and encouraging them through our process, resulting in a commit

  • Handle objectives and fears confidently and strategically, using discernment, the leading of the Holy Spirit and personal experience and knowledge

  • Remain informed and up-to-date on company information, PR issues, marketing strategy, understanding competition, and program objectives by remaining in close communication with various departments, appearing informed and unified as an organization

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure alignment and cohesive vision towards common goals and initiatives

  • Generate excitement and cast vision for applicants, directing to blogs, social media, testimonials, and personal experience

  • Manage communication between external customers, including but not limited to - call-ins, emails, “Contact Us” forms and Live chats

  • Manage and maintain customer historical information within multiple systems, including but not limited to: Moby, CM, InfusionSoft, Slack

  • Represent the organization at key community events, such as youth conferences or seminars, in order to gather leads and generate a presence

  • Focuses sales efforts by studying customer base and applying insights and motivational strategies.

  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, schedules, etc.

 

Competencies Required

  • World Race, Gap Year, or Semesters experience strongly preferred
  • Professing Christian with an established record of high Christian character, integrity, servant leadership, maturity, and a positive attitude

  • Understands and embraces the core values of Adventures In Missions and the World Race/Gap Year/Semesters programs

  • Is deeply passionate about the mission of the ministry

  • Relational with strong communication and interpersonal skills (written/verbal), positive attitude, and the ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment

  • Customer-centric with outstanding customer service skills, operating with professionalism, patience, and care while making people feel valued and comfortable

  • Administrative-focused and deadline-driven, willing to hold self and participants accountable

  • Operate with a high standard of excellence and the desire to best serve participants as best as possible

  • Ability to listen, understand, empathize, and offer counsel when needed

  • Forward-thinking and proactive; able to look ahead and plan how to get “there”

  • Adaptable and able to function in an innovative space, including learning new systems and processes

  • Time management and task prioritization with the ability to manage many moving pieces and details

  • Team player, willing and able to collaborate and be part of something greater than self

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • 1 – 3 years of sales experience is required
