Summary of Job

The Adventures South Asia - Church Planting role ensures the quality and success of the overall Church Planting program by providing structure and order to the ministry with a high level of excellence. The Church Planting role oversees all operations for the Church Planting program in South Asia as it continues to expand through base partnerships.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The South Asia Church Planting role is responsible for the following ministerial duties:

    • Meet weekly with the Senior Conference Leader to develop an authentic working relationship

    • Lead updates for the weekly all-staff meeting, informing the staff of any recent ministry developments, decisions, trips, trainings, or events

    • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of all Church Planting short-term mission trips

    • Lead debriefs for all short-term mission trips with the trip leader(s).

    • Develop a team of ministry partners to complete the fundraising goal. (Amount to be determined). Through this process ministering to partners through prayer and teaching biblical truths is essential. (I Corinthians 9:14, Philippians 4:17) Training for this located at: www.support.adventures.org

Administrative tasks:

  • Create agendas for all Church Planting meetings with involved Pastoral Leadership

  • Develop, establish, and maintain ministry protocols and practices for the Church Planting program while regularly assessing their viability and sustainability

  • Work with local ministry administrators of Church Planting partners to see the completion of relevant projects and/or events

  • Maintain an organized system of digital materials in Google Drive and events in Google Calendar

  • Regularly meet with local churches, pastors, and leaders to develop plans for training and discipleship

  • Continual learning of the local language and local culture

 

Competencies Required

  • Professing Christian with established record of high Christian character,  integrity, servant leadership, maturity, and a positive attitude

  • Teacher background or a passion for evangelizing

  • Character and Integrity –must have strong Christian moral principles, be trustworthy, honest, fair, and display the Fruit of the Spirit in both word and action

  • Servant leadership – must lead as Christ did with humility, considering their needs above your own and making it your priority to improve those you serve

  • Maturity –must be strong spiritually, responding appropriately with respect to the time and place of every situation

  • Positive attitude – must always be willing to do your best with what is asked of you

  • Understand and embrace the core values, culture, and ministry of Adventures in Missions.

  • Ability and desire to teach locals how to live in Christian community

  • Maintain an active role in both the local American community and local South Asia community

  • Commitment to fostering a healthy team environment that is focused on building God’s Kingdom in South Asia

  • Demonstrate leadership and vision in managing teams, projects, and initiatives

  • Comfortable with cross-cultural communication

  • Ability to organize retreats, seminars and workshops

  • Strong administrative skills, and competent with technology and computer programs

  • Ability to lead concise updates that clearly share relevant information

  • Ability to lead both relationally-focused and task-focused meetings

  • Skilled in scheduling, planning, and organization

  • High attention to detail with a specific focus on communicating schedules/plans

  • Experienced in planning conferences, seminars, or other large-scale events

  • Ability to discern viability and sustainability of programs, protocols, and structures

  • Strong networking ability that brings people across various cultures and ministries into alignment
