Summary of Job

The Adventures in Missions Regional Base Logistics Representative position works as a liaison between Adventures in Missions and its ministry partners throughout the world to maintain and improve the quality of the ministry and experience for participants. The Regional Base Logistics Representative works with local partners and ministry contacts to develop dynamic relationships, ensuring efficient and impactful ministry is taking place. This includes ministering, praying for, encouraging, communicating, and meeting with partners in his/her assigned region. They will also provide spiritual and logistical support for the host and leading of short-term teams, as well as live and work in a team environment abroad.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Regional Base Logistics Representative is responsible for the following ministerial duties:

    • Coordinate with all other members of the Adventures base team to ensure the goals and objectives of the base are understood and met.

    • Help facilitate and maintain a supportive community and environment for and with the base team.

    • Training and orientation of short-term teams and ministry guests.

    • Develop an extensive host relationship network in region of responsibility which supports the ministry setup needs of all Adventures in Missions programs and evaluate relationships for potential partnership opportunities where strategically appropriate.

    • Work with hosts to understand their ministerial needs and expectations as well as communicate Adventures in Missions ideals, vision, culture, needs and expectations so that a value proposition can be created and managed to.

    • Determine quality ministry partners by evaluating spiritual climate, ministry capacity, vision and purpose, along with the autonomy of the ministry.

    • Develop a team of ministry partners to complete the fundraising goal. (Amount to be determined). Through this process ministering to partners through prayer and teaching biblical truths is essential.   • Administrative tasks:

    • Regular communication with both the Long-Term Missions department and your Regional Manager

    • Setup ministry opportunities with ministry partners in region of responsibility.  Communicate completed setup plans to appropriate departments and leadership.  

    • Work with hosts and trip leaders to address quality issues identified through both the trip leader and ministry host evaluation process.

    • Responsible for managing and working to improve the ministry experience as measured by metrics in the logistics process: Field Evaluations, Effectiveness of adherence to partnership criteria, Growth in number of qualified Host Ministry Partners, Cost as well as other quality and capacity measurables.

    • Have a thorough knowledge of the countries in region of responsibility to include but not limited to visa requirements, government regulations, vaccinations, safety, overall culture, and spiritual climate.

    • Work as part of a cross-functional team which includes multiple departments to achieve goals with respect to the control of field costs and program expectations.

  • Negotiation skills with the context of different cultures.  Understanding budgets and stewardship.

  • Able to manage and oversee the daily operational/administrative needs of multiple departments, including managing to timelines.  

  • High capacity for details.

  • The ability to facilitate and utilize feedback.

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, & a strategic mindset are skills necessary for success.

  • The flexibility to meet shifting needs and willingness to work flexible hours.  Will do “whatever it takes”.

  • Maintain an active role in both the local American community and local community around your base.

  • Commitment to fostering a healthy team environment that is focused on building God’s Kingdom in your base location.
